Real-name ticketing with a foreign passport

Use the same valid passport throughout the venue's booking and entry workflow. Copy the document details carefully, follow that official channel's field instructions, save the confirmation, and carry the original passport if the venue requires it at the gate. There is no safe universal name order, correction method or QR-only entry rule for every venue.

Quick answer

Use the same valid passport throughout the venue's booking and entry workflow. Copy the document details carefully, follow that official channel's field instructions, save the confirmation, and carry the original passport if the venue requires it at the gate. There is no safe universal name order, correction method or QR-only entry rule for every venue.

Who this guide is for

This applies to
A foreign-passport holder using a named venue's real-name booking or ticket-inspection process.
This does not apply to
Visa, border, hotel or transport identity checks, or a request for ChinaReady to receive passport information.
What stays operator-specific
Name-field order, supported characters, phone verification, correction, transfer, QR use and manual inspection.

Identify the failed step

Keep the passport data unchanged and fix the channel problem at its source.

The passport option is missing

Check the venue's foreign-visitor channel or official staffed fallback.

The name or number is rejected

Do not guess a universal format. Ask the venue how its fields handle a foreign passport before paying.

The gate cannot read my booking

Show the official booking confirmation and original valid document at the venue's published staffed inspection point.

Before entering passport details

Match the booking and gate record

Select the supported document type

Choose passport only when the venue's official channel lists it for the booking.

Copy details from the document

Enter the required passport fields exactly and do not invent spaces, abbreviations or a national name order.

Review the bound visitor

Confirm that the booking belongs to the person who will enter; do not rely on another visitor's identity.

Save the confirmation

Keep the official order status, booking code or QR code in the issuing channel.

Carry the required original

If the venue says the original booking document is required, bring that valid passport rather than a screenshot alone.

Use the correct entry point

Read the venue's current entrance and staffed-check instructions before arrival.

Escalate mismatches before the visit

Use the venue's official support to ask about correction or cancellation; do not promise that a record can be changed.

Two venue examples

Palace Museum
Its official instructions accept passports for non-mainland visitors and require the original valid booking document at the Meridian Gate. This entrance and procedure are specific to the museum.
Summer Palace
A dated Beijing 12345 response described a staffed booking fallback for foreign visitors when the online phone-number flow was unavailable. It does not prove that the same route or phone requirement applies today or elsewhere.
When verification fails

Keep the real passport details unchanged. Use the venue's official support or published staffed checkpoint, bring the official confirmation and original valid document, and allow extra time. ChinaReady cannot inspect, store or correct your passport record, and a screenshot or QR code may not replace the original document.

Common mistakes

Fixed identity-support inquiry

Use this fixed message without adding your passport number in the message itself.

Hello. I am booking with a foreign passport. Please confirm which document type to select, how your official channel expects the passport name fields, whether the original passport is required at entry, and which staffed checkpoint can help if the booking cannot be read. Please also explain the official correction or cancellation route if the booking details do not match.

Fixed text only. ChinaReady does not collect, edit, save, send or receive passport information.

Frequently asked questions

What name order should I use?

Follow the selected venue's field labels and instructions. No one universal passport-name order is supported for every platform.

Is a QR code enough to enter?

Do not assume so. Official Beijing park guidance and Palace Museum instructions describe identity-document checks in addition to booking confirmation.

Can ChinaReady check my passport record?

No. Do not enter or send passport information to ChinaReady. Use the venue's official channel.
